Backstage Pass with Kitty Scott Claus
03 October 2022
Kitty Scott Claus from season three Drag Race UK tells us all ahead of Kitty and Ella’s Christmas Cracker coming up at Stylus this December!
Q: What can we expect from your upcoming show?
A: You can expect the most glamorous, gorgeous, magical Christmas show this side of the North Pole, with your season 3 faves Kitty and Ella.
Q: What has been your biggest success to date?
A: Participating in RuPaul’s Drag Race UK of course! It’s such an honour to go on the show but to also be given such a platform! I was doing shows in bars before and now we’re performing in arenas!
Q: Which performers do you look up to? Who are your influences?
A: The Spice Girls! I was obsessed with them as a child, but growing up I admire the role models they have become to all people: championing each other, being unashamedly themselves and wearing camp costumes.
Q: If you could do a collaboration with anyone, who would it be?
A: Ella Vaday, obvs! What could be better than working with your bestie?!
Q: Favourite moment of Drag Race UK?
A: Crying at Emma Bunton, trying to tell her how much I love her whilst being dressed as baby spice.
Q: If you could tell your fans one thing, what would it be?
A: After my stint on celebrity Master Chef, I get lots of tweets about recipes and I stand by the fact a trifle shouldn’t have jelly in it. You can’t tell me I’m wrong.
Q: Who’s your favourite drag artist of all time?
A: Kitty Scott Claus. (Ella Vaday as runner up, again).
Q: What does drag mean to you?
A: Drag is freedom. It’s an expression of individuality. It’s FUN!
Q: What’s your number one lip sync battle song?
A: I loved doing ‘Something New’ by Girls Aloud on season three!
Q: Favourite RuPaul’s Drag Race challenge?
A: I really loved doing the snatch game because it’s one of those iconic drag race challenges, and was always my favourite episode to watch as a fan. However, I do also love the Fugly Ball – it was the most chaotic day but the most fun!
Q: What’s next for Kitty and Ella?
A: We’re currently touring the UK in the official RuPaul’s Drag Race Season Three tour until October, then will be back out on the road in December with Kitty and Ella’s Christmas Cracker!
We can’t wait to host Kitty and Ella at Stylus soon! You can grab your tickets at the link below:
